Sabrina Goes to Rome (1998)

American teenage witch Sabrina and her food-obsessed magical talking cat and mouse travel to Rome, the last whereabout of her 16th-century aunt Sophia, who was banished after breaking the rule not to divulge her powers to a non-witch; her mission is to find out how Sophia can be freed by opening her golden locket. Sabrina stays with her Italian relatives; notably niece Gwen, an certain and therefore dangerously clumsy budding witch, actually joins her quest there. Being seen using magic, Sabrina gets followed by two tabloid reporters, Paul and Travis, who are promised at least $100,000 if they can expose a real witch, but Paul, an American-adopted Italian, who set out a to win her confidence to trick her easier till they can take a picture of her witchcraft, actually falls in love with her. Gwen has her own Roman admirer, timid Alberto, but impatience for him to make a move causes her to accidentally transform him into a street pigeon. The girls find only one way to Sophia’s secret: a portrait by an obscure Renaissance painter, who meant more in auntie’s life…

Return to Halloweentown (2006)

Marnie and Dylan are going to follow their dreams to go to college, at Halloweentown University, which is also known as Witch University. Marnie is offered a full scholarship for her good deeds and for her work in the previous movies. Much to her mother Gwen’s dismay, Marnie goes, and her brother Dylan reluctantly forced along by Gwen to keep an eye on her. The school is not what it seems. At the school, witches and warlocks can’t use magic, instead they learn about Shakespeare and old magic history. Marnie had thought she was going to learn how to use her magic and is now crestfallen. She runs into her old friend Ethan (Lucas Grabeel) and makes a new friend, Aneesa the genie (Summer Bishil). She also makes three new enemies in the Sinister Sisters, a triad of malevolent witches with whom Dylan is immediately infatuated.

Aggie wants to start Marnie’s witch training before her 13th birthday or Marnie will lose her powers forever. But there is another reason for Aggie’s visit. Something dark & evil is growing in Halloweentown & Aggie wants help to defeat it. While Aggie & Gwen are arguing, Aggie uses magic which Marnie observes. After Aggie leaves to return to Halloweentown, Marnie, Dylan and, unknown to Marnie and Dylan, Sophie follow her onto the return bus. Soon afterwards, Gwen follows the children to Halloweentown. While there, Aggie & Gwen are attacked by the dark force in a movie theater. Marnie, Dylan & Sophie race to get the ingredients to activate Merlin’s Wand to stop the evil.
